Applications invited for “˜Pitch It”™ competition

The Town of Minto and LaunchIt Minto are once again offering the “Pitch It!” Minto Business Plan Competition. The purpose of “Pitch It!” is to encourage small business growth in Minto and to increase awareness of the resources available to businesses in the community, local officials state in a press release.

The competition is geared towards entrepreneurs that wish to open, purchase, expand or re-locate a business within the Town of Minto.

This year, with the support of community sponsors, over $15,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs to the winner and finalists of the competition.

“The Minto Pitch-It Business Plan Competition was a fantastic opportunity for us to launch our idea into a business. The competition allowed us to focus and develop an idea into a cohesive plan and receive feedback at a critical moment in the life of any new business. Any participant who wants to explore taking their idea to the next level should consider entering—the advice and guidance are perhaps the best prizes of all.” said Vince Tkaczuk of Bell’s Edge Farm, the winner of last year’s event.

For anyone interested in entering the competition, details and application forms can be found online at www.mintoed.com or at the Town of Minto Office located at 5941 Hwy 89, Harriston.

Questions regarding the competition can be directed to Belinda Wick-Graham at 519-338-2511 ext. 241 or belinda@town.minto.on.ca
